The clouds seem to be sparing the dam in the valley, so it's still nice for a swim

loving the colour of the water

The water's edge was muddy , so we thought we'd smear ourselves and have a little mud treatment, bad mistake, when we washed it off , it felt like bits of fibre glass stuck in our skin, so all afternoon it was very annoying, but fine again the next day

our little beach there , we had to ourselves

driving back now, and leaving the dam , guadalest and clouds behind

was a pretty steep drive up the mountain, and had to stop the car for about 20 minutes, as it loked like it was about to overheat

this is what it used to look like, just before Spain became a tourist attraction

Going up to check the ruins of the actual castle

Can you imagine building here ?

And right at the top there is a cemetry, we are some 20-30 kms inland and at Benidorm a long long time ago, there was a shipwreck with knights of malta on board, some of which died in the shipwreck, and they were then brought all the way up here in the hills to be buried, and I'm curious as to why they lugged a dead body for 30kms into the hils to be buried here

Love the light,I could pretend I took this pic in the lateafternoon in Hollywood hills, and you would believe me

and we stumble upon the castle at Guadalest

pretty little place with the last rays of light streaming through the hills

Guadalest is built on top of this little rocky outcrop

Jacqui shows us how the woman of the town used to do the washing
